The authors prove some consequences of a theorem on entire functions of exponential type derived in an earlier paper [\textit{Q. I. Rahman} and \textit{G. Schmeisser}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 122, 463-468 (1987; Zbl 0616.30027)]. There is a short proof of Bernstein's inequality, a representation theorem for the logarithmic derivative and a necessary condition for stability of delay equations.
