The Cauchy problem for \(u_ t+\epsilon u_{xt}+\alpha (u)_ x\ni 0\) is shown to be well-posed in \(L^ 1\) by semigroup methods. The solution depends continuously on the maximal monotone graph \(\alpha\) and \(\epsilon\geq 0\).
