The following numerical invariants are associated with every cochain algebra A: biMcat(A), rMcat(A), lMcat(A). They approximate, for any field k and if \(A=C^*(X;k)\), the category of a space X, as Lusternik- Schnirelmann define it. We prove here that these three invariants are pairwise distinct.
