Iterative solution of negative exponent Emden-Fowler problems (Q916848)

By means of a monotone iteration technique, the authors prove existence of a positive solution pair (y,\(\lambda\)) of the problem \[ y''(x)+\lambda a(x)y(x)^{\mu}=0\quad (0<x<1),\quad y(0+)=y(1-)=0, \] where \(-\infty <\mu \leq -1\).
