The author considers the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the system of differential equations \[ \dot x=y,\quad C\dot y=A(x,y)y+\text{grad} G(x)=0 \] in which C is a positive definite diagonal matrix. They study the convergence of the solutions of this system by considering an energy integral \(\int^{t}_{0}\| y(\sigma)\|^ 2 d\sigma\).
