This work is an interesting comment concerning one problem solved by Archimedes, namely, the calculation of the area of a section of a parabola. It is well known that Archimedes utilised two methods for solving this problem. In this note, the second of these two methods is presented and its relation with the summation of sequences and the theory of integration is proved. [See also the following review.]
