Several procedures are described for the numerical evaluation of Bessel functions of the first and second kind of complex argument and integral order. The algorithms are based on Taylor series, asymptotic expansions, and on a discretization of Bessel's integral for the Bessel coefficients \(J_ n(z)\). A discussion of the backward recurrence algorithm is also included.
