The goal of this paper is to present an algorithm which is effective for the numerical computation of the Minkowski-Bouligand dimension of many fractal curves. This is done with the help of two new quantities, the size, comparable to the diameter, and the deviation, which measures the perturbation of the curve. Several particular cases and examples are discussed.
