The paper deals with local splines of order 2 and 3 on n-dimensional unit cubes and gives estimates for the stability of the spline approximation in \(L^ p((0,1))\), \(p=1\), \(p=2\), and in \(L^{\infty}((0,1)^ n)\); the inequalities in the last case being sharp.
