A second order interval slope arithmetic is developed, which continues the first order slope concept introduced by \textit{R. Krawczyk} and \textit{A. Neumaier} [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 22, 604--616 (1985; Zbl 0572.65007)]. The aim of this arithmetic is to provide good include of the range of factorable functions. Numerical examples show the importance of this tool. A complete PASCAL-SC code is included in the paper.
