The paper investigates an (s,S) inventory system with Poisson demands and full backlogging that is modified in the following way: (1) the number of orders that can be pending at any time has an upper limit and (2) the number of supplied items is a random quantity less than or equal to the fixed ordered quantity. The paper establishes the existence of the limiting distribution of the inventory level in a matrix geometric form including its explicit form.
