A remark on the decomposition of abelian fiber spaces over curves (Q922598)

Let \(f:X\to C\) be a surjective morphism of a projective manifold X to a nonsingular curve C with abelian varieties as general fibres. For such f, the author shows that the family of constant abelian fibre spaces \(h:Y\to C\) with meromorphic map \(g:X\to Y\) of abelian fibre spaces X and Y over C has a unique maximal element up to a bimeromorphic map of abelian fibre spaces over C. That is to say, he shows the existence of a universal constant abelian fibre space over C for \(f:X\to C\).
