A physical interpretation of the results obtained earlier for the shock interaction of a homogeneous elastic system with a concentrated object is given in the form of the laws of variation of the energy and moments. The impact of a material point against a string is considered as an example, and the dependence of the time of contact and the coefficient of restitution on the parameters of the problem is given.
