Extending a work by the reviewer [Arch. Math. 43, 137-141 (1984; Zbl 0548.15012)], the paper characterizes the matrices satisfying \(| AB| =| A| \cdot | B|\) and \(| AB| =<A>_ u| B|\). Here the absolute value is taken componentwise, and \(<A>_ u\) is the modified Ostrowski comparison matrix for A.
