The paper is devoted to the study of the existence of solutions of a special periodic boundary value problem for singular nonautonomous second order differential equations. A variational approach based on the mountain pass theorem is used. Some sufficient conditions concerning the nonlinearity are obtained by seeking critical points of some functional in an appropriate Sobolev space.
