The author studies an evolutive hemivariational inequality in Banach spaces, where the second time-derivative of the unknown function and the first time-derivative of a hysteresis term appear. He gives an existence result. The method used consists in a reduction of order, via a suitable integral transformation, and then in time-discretization and passage to the limit.
