\textit{R. Ger} [General inequalities 3, 3rd int. Conf., Oberwolfach 1981, ISNM 64, 263--276 (1983; Zbl 0519.39009)] was the first author who considered jointly Ulam's and Erdős's problems. In this paper, the author applies the method of \textit{J. Tabor} [Aequationes Math. 63, No. 1--2, 18--25 (2002; Zbl 1009.39023)], to obtain a general stability result for the joint Ulam's problem and Erdős's problem concerning the Cauchy functional equation.
