The authors continue their investigations of the value distribution of difference polynomials of meromorphic functions. They show in particular (cf. Theorem 1) that extending the Tumura-Clunie type theorems to difference polynomials requires some additional assumptions. The paper concludes with a discussion and a suggestion for obtaining a difference counterpart of a restricted variant of the Tumura-Clunie theorem.
