Heat transfer problem for a glass lense has been dealt with analytically. Quite a few simplifying plausible assumption have been made to make the analytical study possible. Different cases have been examined in the text. The first case to be investigated is the constant temperature of the mounting. Subsequently heat flux has been prescribed on the boundary instead of temperature. Then a general problem combining the two previous cases is included. Part of the lense mantle, a ring of given width is kept at a constant temperature by the mounting. The other part of the lense mantle, a ring of constant but different width is subjected to constant heat flux for some time and then the heating is switched off. The analysis is very interesting.
