This book is a modern and nice introduction to the theory of control systems governed by Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), in the two-dimensional space. At the beginning the author introduces some interesting examples of control systems leading to ODEs. Next, part of the basic theory of systems of ODEs exposed is relevant for the ensuing applications. Moreover concepts of optimality, controllability and attainability are exposed with some basic features of index theory. Finally, the examples introduced at the beginning are revisited as the theoretial part to apply is developed.
