Basic deformation theory of smooth formal schemes (Q942192)

The article provides the fundamental results of deformation theory for smooth formal schemes. Let \(f_0 \colon {\mathfrak X}_0 \to {\mathfrak Y}_0\) be a smooth morphism of noetherian formal schemes, and let \({\mathfrak Y}_0 \hookrightarrow {\mathfrak Y}\) be a closed immersion given by a square zero ideal. The author analyses the existence and uniqueness of liftings of \(f_0\), and establishes the expected generalizations of the well-known results that are available for schemes.
