Let \(A\) be a local Henselian excellent domain of Krull dimension \(d\), \(k\) its residue field, of characteristic \(p>0\), \(K\) its field of fractions. The authors prove the following conjecture of Kato: \[ \dim_p(K)=\dim_p(k)+d. \]
