The research on uniqueness of entire and meromorphic functions sharing certain sets of values was triggered by a famous question of \textit{Gross}. \textit{Prof. Hong Xun Yi} first attempted to answer \textit{Gross's} question. Afterwards a series of papers were published on the topic. The main trend of research is to reduce the cardinality of the shared sets. Recently another trend came up: the investigations on the possibility of relaxing the notion of sharing sets. In the paper, the authors use the notion of weighted sharing of sets to prove several results on Gross's question under weaker hypotheses on set sharing.
