\textit{D. J. Walton} and \textit{D. S. Meek} [Comput.-Aided Des. 31, No.~14, 857--866 (1999; Zbl 1038.68579)] studied a \(G^2\)-transition between two circles with a single fair cubic Bézier curve [cf. \textit{Z. Habib} and \textit{M. Sakai}, Int. J. Comput. Math. 80, No.~8, 959--967 (2003; Zbl 1042.65018)]. The authors simplyfy and extend the analysis contained in the foregoing papers. A parameter to control the transition curve while preserving its important shape features is introduced. This enables an interactive alteration of the shape of the curve while preserving the required geometric features.
