The authors have designed and fabricated a single stage Stirling type pulse tube cryocooler based on calculations using REGEN3.2. Experimental results reveal that with the pressure ratio 1.8, a cooling capacity of 5.0W at 79.1k and a no-load cooling temperature 57.0k may be obtained, which is in agreement with the design predictions.
