Summary: We point out and correct several errors that appear in a recently published paper [\textit{T. Hayat, Masood Khan, A.M. Siddiqui} and \textit{S. Asghar}, Int. J. Non-Linear Mech. 39, No. 10, 1621--1633 (2004; Zbl 1348.76017)] on transient flows of second-grade fluids.
