The author considers a general differential equation of macroeconomic dynamics describing the joint interaction between the long-term economic growth and business cycles in a developed market economic system [see \textit{A. A. Akaev}, Dokl. Akad. Nauk, Ross. Akad. Nauk 417, No. 4, 439--441 (2007; Zbl 1181.91163)]. The analysis of its dynamics shows that even weak periodic peturbation (for example, periodic variations in the interest rate) can have a large effect on the oscillation process in a market economic system and can lead to rather large variations in the oscillation amplitude over a sufficiently long time interval.
