This work reports the first local model for the redistribution of water and Na\(^+\), K\(^+\), Cl\(^-\) ions in the epidermis, which incorporates active transport through the live cells that comprise it. The molecular flux beam contains diffusive and electromigration flux component given by the Ernst-Planck equation. Model based computation indicates that the cell regulation mechanisms have a strong impact on extracellular ion and water transport.
