The authors prove some result concerning nonstability in the Hyers-Ulam sense of the first order linear difference equation \(y_{n+1}=a_{n}y_{n}+b_{n}\) in a Banach space \(X\). The results are also connected with the notion of shadowing from dynamical systems.
