    Initial-boundary problems for the partial differential equation \[ D_t u(t,x)+(-1)^ma(x)D_x^{2m}u(t,x)- A(x)u(t,x)=f(t,x), \quad (t,x)\in (0,T)\times (0,T), \] are under consideration in a Banach space. For the case of a sectorial operator \(A(x)\) necessary and sufficient conditions on \(f(t,x)\), parameter \(m\), and initial-boundary values are obtained for existence and uniqueness of the problem. Main techniques of the investigation is the Da Prato-Grisvard techniques of sums of operators. The important particular case with \(a(x)=a\) and \(A(x)=A\) is investigated in details and some applications are given.
