The continuation software AUTO and the direct numerical integration of the reaction-diffusion equations for the FitzHugh-Nagumo model are used for the investigation of the hysteresis in the pinning-depinning transition of spiral waves rotating around a hole in a circular shaped 2D exitable medium. It is shown that a nonlinear eiconal equation mast be taken into account.
