The authors represent efficiently a class of Fourier integral operators by means of Gabor time-frequency frames, leading to boundedness results on modulation spaces, in particular, for pseudodifferential operators with symbols in \(M^{\infty,1}\), for some Fourier multipliers and metaplectic opertors. Mathematical tools are provided to solve numerically the Cauchy problem for Schrödinger equations by means of Gabor frames.
