The author gives an elegant alternative proof of the generalized Littlewood Tauberian theorem for the Abel summability method. In the proof the author uses a corollary to \textit{J. Karamata}'s main result from [``Über die Hardy-Littlewoodschen Umkehrungen des Abelschen Stetigkeitssatzes'', M. Z. 32, 319--320 (1930; JFM 56.0210.01)].
