The author considers the following problem: given a non-empty set \(P\) of prime numbers, determine necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a sequence of polynomials, with support base \(P\) [see the paper for a definition], which is a solution of a functional equation arising from multiplication of quantum integers discussed by \textit{M. B. Nathanson}, [J. Number Theory 103, No. 2, 214--233 (2003; Zbl 1055.39039)].
