This is a survey on the Langlands functoriality conjectures and their applications to the arithmetic of representations of Galois groups of number fields. The author considers the stable trace formula, the Fundamental Lemma, endoscopy, Shimura varieties, reciprocity, and the Sato-Tate conjecture for elliptic modular forms, proved by himself and collaborators.
