The authors discuss the sensitivity of the interpolation by univariate radial basis functions (RBF) on an otherwise uniform grid. The first grid is a uniform grid in which only one point is slightly shifted. The second grid is a uniform grid with one point omitted. Gaussian, hyperbolic secant, and inverse quadratic RBFs are considered. Numerical experiments are presented too.
