The paper presents an even parity formulation of the S2 approximation of the transient radiative transfer equations in the one-dimensional slab. The system models a physical problem of radiation heat transfer in a participating media. The existence and the uniqueness of the solution are studied. Also presented are a priori lower and upper bounds of the solution of the physical problem.
