The authors analyze the real parameter \(\nu\) on which depends the lower bound provided by \textit{P. Psarrakos} [Appl. Math. Lett. 20, No.~5, 499--504 (2007; Zbl 1127.15008)] for the distance between the \(\varepsilon\)-pseudospectrum of a matrix polynomial and a given point out of it.
