The class of 0-homogeneous effect algebras is introduced. It is shown that it is a proper superclass of the class of homogeneous effect algebras and is closed under forming horizontal sums, that the set of sharp elements of a 0-homogeneous effect algebra forms a subalgebra, and that every chain-complete 0-homogeneous effect algebra is homogeneous.
