The authors present some new sufficient conditions for \(p\)-matrices to be positive stable. The main results are extensions of symmetric and strictly diagonally dominancy properties. Some examples show the independence among the new stability conditions and the sign symmetric condition of \textit{D. Carlson} [J. Res. Natl. Bur. Stand., Sect. B, 78, 1--2 (1974; Zbl 0281.15020)]. Special examples with graphics and probability distribution table illustrate the greater embracement of the new criteria.
