This book provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of marginal modeling and offers a wide range of possible applications. In the social, behavioral, educational, economic, and biomedical sciences, data are often collected in ways that introduce dependencies in the observations to be compared. In the first Chapter, the basic concepts of marginal modeling are explained, and loglinear marginal models are discussed in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, it is shown how to estimate and test non-loglinear marginal models. The methods are then applied in Chapter 4 to investigate changes over time using longitudinal data. In Chapter 5, marginal modeling is related to causal modeling. Marginal models involving latent variables are the topic of Chapter 6. In the final Chapter 7, a number of important conclusions, discussions and extensions are given. The book has mainly been written with applied researchers in mind.
