The dataset contains the outputs of Large-Eddy Simulations run with the software OpenFOAM v9. The dataset is related to the Master Thesis work "Numerical analysis of shedding vortices past a simplified supercell storm" (2023) and to the submitted paper for Nature journal "Revealing atmospheric Von Krmn Vortex Street past supercell thunderstorms" (2025). "constant.tgz" contains the computational mesh and other constant values used for the simulation setup. "postProcessing.tgz" contains the data extracted from the probes and on horizontal planes, as generated by the OpenFOAM software. Furthermore, maximum updraft vertical velocity is computed at intervals of 5 minutes. "initial_condition.tgz" contains, obviously, the time 0 of the simulation, i.e. the initial condition. "output_simulation_steady_state.tgz" contains the outputs of the simulations (velocity, buoyancy and pressure perturbation fields) used for the analysis, at intervals of 5 minutes (300s). The output fields and the computational mesh can be plotted through the post-processing and visualization tool ParaView, used as standard package for the visualization of OpenFOAM outputs.
