Abstract: Using the tools of Sz.-Nagy--Foias theory of contractions, we describe in detail the invariant subspaces of the operator $Soplus{S}^{*}$, where $S$ is the unilateral shift on a Hilbert space. This answers a question of C^amara and Ross.
