The Burnside ring \(B(G)\) of a finite group \(G\) has the structure of a \(\lambda\)-ring induced by consideration of symmetric powers of \(G\)-sets. For a positive integer \(n\) and a finite \(G\)-set \(S\), the authors provide an alternating sum expression for \(\lambda^n([S])\) in \(B(G)\).
