The author obtains upper bounds for the heat trace weighted by a negative power of the distance to the boundary of an open set \(D\) in a complete Riemannian manifold assuming that the Dirichlet-Laplace-Beltrami operator acting in \(L^{2}(D)\) satisfies a strong Hardy inequality.
