This paper is a modification cum correction of a recently published article of \textit{P. D. Verma} and \textit{D. S. Chauhan} [Indian J. pure appl. Math. 13, 959-965 (1982; Zbl 0491.76097)] containing certain inherent fundamental errors pertaining to a study of the steady laminar motion of a viscous incompressible fluid in the region bounded by two coaxially tapered tubes having a virtual vertex including the effect of porosity.
