When a nonhierarchical clustering method is applied to a set of data for several numbers of clusters, many of the clusters obtained appear to be artificial. In this paper a method is described for carrying out a subsequent analysis in order to determine the most natural clusters in the data set, according to the results of an initial nonhierarchical clustering.
