The author shows that the natural spinor connection on the oriented 8- sphere gives the non-trivial topological solution of the source-free Yang-Mills equations of \textit{B. Grossman}, \textit{T. K. Kephart} and \textit{J. D. Stasheff} [Commun. Math. Phys. 96, 431-437 (1984; Zbl 0575.58034), Erratum 100, 311 (1985)]. The Euler number is explicitly calculated.
