The author has done considerable rigorous work on convergence properties of particle transport equations. This paper investigates the stability, convergence and consistency properties of steady-state multigroup models for submultiplying media. This particular paper extends results of \textit{P. Nelson} and the author [Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 4, 206-229 (1982; Zbl 0488.65076)] for slab media to steady-state transport in multi- dimensional media.
