The micropolar hemitropic medium is considered. Closed solutions of displacement-rotation equations of elastostatics and thermoelastostatics in the one-dimensional case are given for selected boundary problems. The half-space and elastic layer are studied. The behaviour of the hemitropic medium with respect to the centrosymmetric micropolar medium, the couple- stress medium, the classical and the hypothetical medium is discussed.
